Expanding Hierarchy column at desired level for all sections of a pivot table. In this post I will explain you how to do that.
In my example I take Products Hierarchical column, Department as a section and some measures.
By default the analysis looks like this:
If we expand one level of the first department and save the analysis, it will keep the settings for that department.
But my requirement is to expand one level to all departments by default. It will be done using “Selection Steps Pane”.
Click on the “Then, New Step” under Products Hierarchy and then click on “Select Members”.
Expand the Product Hierarchy to the level you want and then click on “Move All”.
See the Results. This is how it looks like. Save the analysis. The analysis will always show the level you set for all the sections.
