Defining Source Data Structures In OWB from a SQL Server


 

Note: I have used Oracle Warehouse Builder 11.2.0.1

Start the Design Center
Start button -> All Programs -> Oracle 11g Installation (Name) -> Warehouse Builder -> Design Center

Note: You must have the Oracle Heterogeneous Services configured.


 
Right click on ODBC  (under databases).

Click on "Next".

Choose a name for the SQLServer database module, the role of the module and a description. The description is not mandatory.

Click on "Next".

Click on "Edit". Choose the right values for User Name, Password, Host, Port, Service Name, SQL Server Schema.

Click on "OK", then click on "Next".

Click on "Finish".

Right click on the SQLServer module (under ODBC) and choose "Validate".

You must receive no errors.

Note: When a module is created no objects (tables, views, sequences) are related to this module:

Now you must import the SQL Server data structures in order to create the OWB design.
