Task 2: Get the License Key for your organization from Informatica Support.
Step by Step Procedure of  Actual Informatica PowerCenter upgrade as below
Step 1: Login as infweb or switch user to infweb . This user we have created while doing Informatica PowerCenter 8.6.0 installation. This user owns all Informatica files and process
Step 2: Create a filesystem for Informatica 9.1.0 installation with name /informatica91 and change the ownership to “infweb”. We can do upgrade on the existing filesystem / informatica861 , but I preferred to do in on other filesystem.
crfs -v jfs2 -A yes `mklv -t jfs2 -y informat datavg 2G` -a log=INLINE -m /informatica91mount /informatica911
chown –R infweb:system /informatica9
Step 3 : Switch user to infweb and change directory where Infromactica8.6.1 install able files are exist.
su infweb
cd /admin/software/PC91
Step 4: If we have environment variables PM_HOME, INFA_HOME,INFA_NODE_NAME and INFA_DOMAINS_FILE set then we need to unset them using unset command
unset PM_HOME
unset INFA_HOME
unset INFA_NODE_NAME
unset INFA_DOMAINS_FILE
Step 5: Stop the currently running Informatica services
cd /informatica861/server/tomcat/bin
./infaservice.sh shutdown
ps -ef |grep -i java
Step 7: Run the installer “./install.sh” and you will be getting welcome notice and it will prompt on several places before going to “Chose Installation Type” phase as below. I have Bold Out my response as on below output and I have selected Console mode for installation

  FEBRUARY 14, 2012POSTED IN: AIX
In this Informatica PowerCenter  tutorial series, I will explain first how to install Informatica 8.6 on AIX , second I will explain how to upgrade Informatica PowerCenter 8.6 to 8.6.1 and finally we will see Informatica  9.1 with Hot Fix 2 upgrade  from Informatica 8.6.1.
On this first  article ,we will see how to install Informatic PowerCenter 8.6 , but  creating repository , workflow , Integration service and  PowerCenter client etc are out of scope of this tutorial.
Pre requisite
1) Downloaded Informatica PowerCenter 8.6 package . I have unzip and uploaded  PowerCenter  8.6 package(pc86_aix32)  and license key to the directory /admin/software
-rw-r-----    1 infoweb system        webmanual_0034567-Development-AIX.key
drwxr-x---    6 infoweb system        pc86_aix32
2) Get the License Key for your organization from Informatica Support
Example : Informatica support provided webmanual_0034567-Development-AIX.key license for our organization
3)  Collect the Database user ID , Database user password ,Custom string information from Database team . In this example I have the following information from Database team
Database user ID:: DBINFWEB
Database user password:: DBINFWEB
Custom string: jdbc:informatica:oracle://infwebora:1521;ServiceName=infweb
Step by Step Procedure
Task 1: Create a user id to be used for Informatica installation and assign a password .This user will own all Informatica files and process . I have created  one with user if “infoweb”
